All of the work from my granite and marble fabricator - Potomac Marble & Granite - is done "in-house" and, therefore, not subcontracted. PMG and Heritage Cabinet Supply are committed to excellence! PMG even has a seven-day (7 days!) turn-around time from measurment to actual installation. THAT is rare in this arena! We can get you anything from Ubatuba to the most exotic granite you can find. Imported from around the globe, we have access to over 300 stones! If it is out there, we can get it and fabricate it to meet your every need and desire. Because PMG is local, you can go to their warehouse and pick out the very stone that will be cut and shined, as your design dictates. So, ENJOY the luxury of one-stop shopping and come to us for your granite and marble needs. The company - PMG - is so confindent in their craftsmanship that they offer a 10-YEAR warranty on installation. Additionally, every slab of granite they fabricate is sealed with their exclusive IntenSeal sealing system. Most granite countertops need constant re-sealing - twice a year! That is not the case with our granite because of IntenSeal. While granite is porous , most granite companies offer a sealant that is "cost-effective" to THEM, but is not beneficial to the homeowner. WHY? Their sealants tend to wear off and will require re-sealing, as discussed above. Surface sealants also can leave a "cloudy" appearance on the stone. Depending on the amount of sunlight, in combination with a thick sealant leaving little "breathe-ability" for the stone, color may change over time. Our importer / fabricator PMG provides their exclusive sealing sytem - IntenSeal - which, in short, means that for as long as you own your countertop, you will NEVER need to re-seal it to keep it looking new. IntenSeal is a special premium silicone impregnating system designed to penetrate below the surface and bond with the natural properties within the stone. This prevents stains from food items, such as cooking oil, wine and even fruit juices! That is why PMG can provide its ONE-OF-A-KIND Stain Protection Guarantee! We have put it on our website for you to read - it is straight forward with no small print. POTOMAC MARBLE & GRANITE STAIN PROTECTION GUARANTEE (Limited Warranty) Potomac Marble & Granite, Inc. (herinafter referred to as PMG Inc.) hereby warrants that for as long as the granite countertop installed by PMG Inc. is in the original purchaser's possession PMG Inc. will, at the company's discretion, either repair or replace any portion of the countertop that has been stained by any food or beverage product suitable for human consumption. Whether the portion is to be replaced or repaired will be ultimately determined by a representative of PMG Inc, and the work will be done at no cost to the original purchaser. This warranty does not cover any staining as a result of neglect or abuse, nor does it cover stains from any items other than food or beverage products. OUR GRANITE IS TOP-OF-THE-LINE In short, you are buying the best quality stone that PMG imports from Italy and Brazil. Many companies advertise a low price per square foot (SF), but then add a LOT of charges that really are not necessary. Watch out for "Contractor Grade" Stone When stone is quarried, some slabs are perfect; the remainder are not. The imperfect slabs typically have small "issues" that compromise the structural integrity of the stone, such as hairline cracks and/or fissures. Slabs that are of this poor quality are typically left over at the quarry until all of the good slabs are sold to the high-end fabricators, such as PMG. Those leftover, imperfect slabs of stone, are bought up by distributors in China at extremely low prices. This stone is then sold to smaller fabricators who in turn advertise their "great" prices. These fabricators make money and the consumer seemingly saves money - BUT they will have many issues down the line with their stone countertops. Those imperfect slabs are usually covered with a WAX SEALANT so that the imperfections are hidden. The purchaser won't notice any of the problems when they view the stone (IF they view the stone) at the fabricator's location. This wax sealant will wear away in time leaving exposed the porous areas of the lesser quality stone. This stone typically needs to be re-sealed every couple of months! Additionally, this less-than-optimal stone can chip easier than the denser, higher quality, stone slabs. As a fabricator, PMG pays a little more for our stone, but they purchase only from the best, most renowned suppliers in Brazil and Italy. So while it is a bit more in terms of initial costs, there are less headaches and problems for the customer who buys through Heritage Cabinet Supply. Our customers get the TOP PICKS from the quarries and, again, it comes with PMG's permanent sealant - IntenSeal - which is GUARANTEED for as long as they own the countertops! The story of many small granite fabricators A couple years ago, a LOT of independent (small) granite fabricators popped up trying to capitalize on the booming housing market in Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C. and West Virginia. Since the 2006 / 2007 housing slump, many of those fabricators understandably are trying to hold on for dear life to avoid going out of business. Most subcontract their fabricators and installers, so they don't actually have any "in-house" employees. Some even work out of their garages with hand saws instead of investing in top-quality machinery, as do reputable granite companies. We stand behind our stone sold to you through Heritage Cabinet Supply. PMG is top in its class and Heritage Cabinet Supply is proud to carry their granite and SileStone.
